01/10: "The Bright Lights of Hollywood: the history and operation of vintage carbon arc lighting".  Bob Meza of "Victory Searchlights" will discuss the history, operation, and role of the carbon arc spotlight. Accompanying Mr. Meza will be author/historian Jim Elyea who will speak on lighting movie sets, both on stage and on-location.  In between will be a short presentation on the history of film premieres. Mr. Meza will be operating his meticulously restored 1942 "General Electric" searchlight before and after his presentation.  Time: 7:30 pm  Location: Hollywood Heritage Museum (2100 N.
